Composited Money Stacks for My First Million series (GQ)

One of the final shots

Breakdown

Money shader, with randomizations to vary the bump/hue/value on each stack.

For GQ's "My First Million Series (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZxDikBCAAk&list=PLq2bex1rbR6GZhUtvz_UpYiyxBGofZR55&index=1) I was tasked to create a digital stand in for our prop money that we weren't able to send to the talent (the video was shot remotely in April 2020). I modeled, shaded, simulated, and composited the money vfx (the motion graphics were later added by the editor)

Challenges:
-full table replacement to clear out the talent's notebook
-creating a the dollar bill assets without the aid of photoshop (which impressively laid out its anti-counterfeit measures on me)
-getting the rigid body simulation to behave right. For it to work, I parented each stack to even simpler geometry.
